I was looking at my old photography books the other night and came across my light painting experiments. Since I did photography/ light painting experiment 2 years ago, I kind of wanted to challenge myself in creating an animation that uses this technique. I have found these links that I thought were really interesting. I loved the idea of using different colours and creating different shapes and dynamic movement.
One of the 20th century’s greatest artists was quite adept with light painting himself. The great Pablo Picasso experimented with light painting in his later days. Picasso stood in front of the camera, armed with a flashlight, and traced his style of imagery in the air before the shutter slammed shut. The result was an illuminating set of photos that show the artist at work– a wild set of self portraits where this famed painter shared the focal point with his art.
I have also came across this during class discussion. http://www.project1231.com/ It was a creepy yet interesting concept. It's thinking outside the box and taking light painting to the next level.
